Symptom

The Windows command line returns a „no found“ error for the telnet command.

Cause

Telnet is a Windows module that is deactivated by default. Therefore the Windows command line fails to execute the telnet command.

Solution

Activate the Windows „Telnet-Client“ module.

1. Open the Windows Control Panel (e.g. right-click on the Windows button in the bottom left corner, then select „Control Panel“).

2. Double-click the „Programs and Features“ icon.

3. Click on „Activate/deactivate Windows features“.

4. Check „Telnet-Client“.

5. Click „OK“ and close all windows.

Activate the Windows „Telnet-Client“ module.

As an alternative you can also activate the feature by a Windows command line command:
dism /online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:TelnetClient
